Hajj 2021 (1442) Update 1

08 Jun 2021

The dates for this year's Hajj pilgrimage are 17 to 22 July.  The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia government are yet to make a formal announcement regarding the entry and health requirements for Hajj 2021.

Due to the ongoing uncertainties around international travel, the Council of British Hajjis UK (CBHUK) are currently advising that British Muslims do not make any travel plans or bookings for Hajj 2021.

If you are planning to travel to Saudi Arabia for Hajj, you are strongly advised to monitor the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) guidance in particular:

  • If the FCDO permits you to travel to Saudi Arabia
  • If Saudi Arabia will allow you to enter from the UK
  • If entry is allowed, what are the entry and quarantine requirements

Please see the fitfortravel Hajj and Umrah Pilgrimage page for details of how you can prepare for your pilgrimage should you be able to attend.

You should review the fitfortravel COVID-19 Health Considerations for Travel advice page for further information on:

  • FCDO Travel Advisory Notices
  • The risk of exposure to coronavirus (COVID-19) at your destination
  • Requirements for COVID testing at your destination prior to return
  • Self-isolation rules on return to the UK
  • Travel Insurance
  • Medical Facilities at your destination
