Malaria in Trinidad

As of 7 April, the Ministry of Health of Trinidad & Tobago has reported 8 cases of malaria in South Trinidad in 2025.

Advice for Travellers

Malaria is not usually present in Trinidad, although is occasionally introduced from other countries. The risk is low at this time.

If you are travelling to any part of Trinidad, you should:

If you develop a high temperature (fever) during your trip, or after you return home from an area where malaria may be present, seek medical advice as soon as possible and tell the doctor about your recent travel history.
