Malaria in India (Mumbai)

According to media the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has recorded 415 cases of  malaria (including 1 death) in August 2018.

Advice for Travellers

Mumbai is not usually considered a city with a high risk of malaria so antimalarial medication is not usually advised.

However, rigorous avoidance of mosquito bites at all times is strongly emphasized as other mosquito-borne infections including dengue are present in the area.
