Rabies (Human) in USA (ex India)

The Virginia Department of Health reported  on 12 May 2017 that a traveller returning home from India has been diagnosed with rabies. The patient was not vaccinated against rabies and was bitten by a dog while in India.

Advice for Travellers

India is considered by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to be a high risk destination for rabies.
