Hepatitis A in Europe (Imported)

An article recently published in Eurosurveillance reported on an increase in hepatitis A infections in tourists from several European countries returning from Egypt from November 2012 to March 2013.
As of 24 April, 80 hepatitis A cases in travellers with symptom onset after 1 November 2012 visiting different areas in Egypt have been reported.
Advice for Travellers
Hepatitis A vaccine is usually recommended for all travellers to Egypt; disease prevalence is considered high in this country. Travellers should also maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and food and water safety.
